Each year CAMP offers grants to assist students who desire to attend our military history conference.  The grants are awarded in memory of Colonel Robert E. Yount and Colonel Merrill C. Windsor, Jr. in recognition of their concern for America's youth.  Colonel Yount served as a former president of CAMP and his interest in youth resulted from his work as the Senior Referee for the Juvenile Court at Maricopa County, Arizona.  Colonel Windsor was also a former president of CAMP who worked as a Special Publications Editor for National Geographic Magazine and late the editor of Arizona Highway magazine.

Any full-time student, from elementary school to post graduate work, is eligible to apply for a grant and winners need not be CAMP members.  Up to two awards are presented each year.  The winners receive up to $300.00 to help cover transportation and hotel expense and all conference fees, including events and meals are waived.  To apply, a student should submit a short paper stating why they desire to attend the conference.  There are no specific guidelines or forms to fill in and the paper should be no longer then on page typed or two pages in longhand.  When the formal announcement is made in early spring it will be posted in the newsroom of this web site.  Application deadlines are usually in April and the papers should be sent to:

The Yount-Windsor Award is made possible through a book auction to be held on Friday evening of the conference.  Members, as well as publishers donate the items auctioned.  If you have books or military related items to donate either bring them to the conference or mail them to CAMP in care of the conference hotel.
